As a healthcare professional, you need a higher level of proof than your patient. Here we discuss how InterX® is different, certifications, and clinical studies.

How InterX® Therapy is Unique

InterX® has US, EU, and Australian patents on our technology. Here are some key words within these patents which discuss our uniqueness:

"Neurostimulation": Stimulation of the nerves located in the skin – these signals travel to the brain, central nervous system and peripheral nervous system to get a local or systemic response.

"Non-invasive", "transcutaneous": Non invasive means nothing penetrates or punctures the skin. Transcutaneous means that the electrical signal to the brain travels along the exterior of the skin, which can tingle sometimes. Most other medical devices send their electrical current through the body, which can be painful. A higher level of electrical stimulation is possible when current travels across the skin.

"Self-directing": InterX®devices tell you the location of the best spot on the skin area to treat by numerical values, by sensation being stronger or by the electrode “sticking” on areas of low impedance.

"Multiple devices and accessories". Treatment with multiple devices and accessories accelerates the healing process.

Medical Research

A number of InterX® clinical studies have been done in the U.S., Great Britain, Italy, Russia, and Australia. All measured pain reduction. Several also measured reduction in pain medication and length of hospitalization required.Shown below in detail are those studies which meet a higher level of research quality. Controlled, Randomized, 60 or more patients, Published.

InterX® 5002 Accessories

Dome Accessory Electrode

The Dome accessory electrode is ideal for larger areas of skin and large muscle groups in treating tendonitis and plantar fasciitis. It’s also highly recommended for dynamic treatment, including stretching. Because it’s so versatile, nearly all of our treatment protocols recommend using the Dome accessory electrode.

4 x 4 Single Flexible Array

Ideal for treating the spine, hamstring, and quad, the InterX® 4 x 4 Flexible Array Electrode is designed to provide dynamic treatment options for symptomatic relief and management of chronic intractable pain, adjunctive treatment in the management of post-surgical and post-traumatic pain, relaxing muscle spasms, muscle re-education, and other neuropathic pain treatment which is very effective for pain relief.

3 x 3 Dual Flexible Array

Perfect for use on the neck, spine, joints, and extremities, the InterX® 3×3 Dual Flexible Array Electrode allows you to apply stimulation to affected areas for neuropathic pain treatment. The Dual Flexible Array is designed to provide dynamic treatment options for symptomatic relief and management of chronic intractable pain, adjunctive treatment in the management of post-surgical and post-traumatic pain, relaxing muscle spasms, and muscle re-education which is very effective for pain relief.

Comb Electrode

One of the keys to success in neuropathic pain treatment is that the electrode must make direct contact with the skin. But sometimes things can get in the way – even something as ordinary as a full head of hair. Which is why we’ve developed the InterX® Comb Electrode, to allow for the stimulation of nerve endings on areas of skin where hair may hinder skin contact.

Universal Classic Electrode

The sleek design makes the Universal Classic Electrode perfect for use in small areas, like the hands, face, boney and contoured areas, and around tendons. Its design provides for better skin contact and more precise readings when used with the InterX® 5002.

Cosmetic Electrode

While InterX® devices are primarily used for neuropathic pain treatment, neurostimulation can also provide cosmetic benefits. Compatible with the InterX® 1000, the InterX® Cosmetic Electrode attachment promotes positive changes in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Plus, studies have also shown an improvement in muscle tone and evening out of skin pigmentation*.

*Refer to our Clinical Studies for more information on patient experiences.

Small Soft Tissue

The small ball electrodes provide access to small tender areas and are perfect for use on the hands and feet. Please note, this electrode is for use with the InterX® 5002 Pro device only.

Universal Soft Tissue Electrode

This accessory electrode can be used to treat muscle spasms and enhance massage technique release trigger points. Large ball stainless steel electrodes are used in this product. It’s also ideal for soft tissue manipulation and massage for fascia restrictions and scar management.

Comfort Flex III

Just as it is named, this is the most comfortable flex array in our opinion. It is thicker than the (Blue) flex array to be more perceptible when lying on it and forms nicely to joints and extremities. Designed more for personal use but can be used in a professional setting. Numeric readings with the 5002 device will be displayed to show impedance values with this array.
